MARYVILLE, Mo. – The UNO tennis team dropped its final match of the regular season to Northwest Missouri State, falling 7-2 to the Bearcats on Monday. With the loss, the Mavericks are now 8-8 on the year.
Juniors Traci Moklestad and Kelsie Olson secured the Mavericks' only win in doubles action at the No. 1 spot, topping Erika Leston and Leslee Fieldhouse, 8-4. In singles, UNO's Heather Hottman fought past Rocio Fernandez in a 6-4, 4-6, (10-8) match at the No. 4 line.
Conference squads now move on to the 2011 MIAA Women's Tennis Championships, which begin Thursday, April 21 and continue through Saturday, April 23 in Kansas City, Mo.
