DES MOINES, Iowa -- The UNO women's tennis team continued its busy schedule this week, dropping a match on Wednesday afternoon to Division I opponent Drake, as the Bulldogs swept the Mavericks, 7-0.

In doubles action, juniors Traci Moklestad and Kelsie Olson competed well in an 8-4 loss to DU's Gabriella Demos and Manca Chrisman. At the No. 2 line, juniors Heather Hottman and Samantha Thomas dropped the match to Earline Lauer and Claudia Rebel, 8-2, and in No. 3 doubles, freshman Jessica Hottman and junior Caitlin Christy were defeated 8-3 by Jessica Aguilera and Amanda Aragon.

In singles action, at No. 6 Christy pushed a tiebreaker, falling 3-6, 6-3, 8-10 in the final. Drake swept the remaining singles matches in straight sets.

UNO returns to conference play Friday, March 25, hosting Southwest Baptist. The match is slated for Noon at Hanscom Park Indoor Tennis Center and has been moved inside due to cold weather conditions forecasted for the Omaha area.
