DURANT, Okla. - The No. 8 UNO softball team picked up a pair of shutout wins at the Southeastern Oklahoma State Invitational on Saturday, defeating Abilene Christian 7-0 and UT-Permian Basin 4-0 at the Durant Multi-Sports Complex.
The Mavericks, who have now shut out three consecutive opponents, improved to 7-1 this year and 3-1 at the Invitational this weekend.
In the first game of the day, #
Dana Elsasser threw a complete-game shutout while striking out six and allowing just three hits. Molly Feichtinger went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double and three runs scored. Lauren Larson# also went 3-for-4 and added three RBI.
In the late afternoon win over UT-Permian Basin, #
Lindsey Slocum# pitched the complete game, while allowing three hits and striking out five. Slocum also hit the first of back-to-back homers in the fifth inning for UNO. #
Amber Lutmer# hit the follow-up shot for her team-leading fourth home run of the year. Slocum and Lutmer have gone back-to-back twice already this season.
UNO closes out the tournament schedule with games on Sunday against Texas A&M International and Central Oklahoma.
