Jefferson City, Mo. -- The UNO women's basketball team fell to the Lincoln Blue Tigers on Saturday, 73-58. Lincoln used a key 20-5 run spanning 8:02 of the second half to pull away from the Mavericks.
With the loss, the Mavericks dropped to 6-12 overall and 3-11 in the MIAA. Lincoln picked up its first conference win to improve to 1-13 in the MIAA and 2-16 on the season.

Heather Pohl# led UNO with 23 points. She hit three 3-pointers on the day to bring her career total to 100 and become just the seventh Maverick in school history to sink 100 3-pointers.

UNO trailed by just two at halftime, 37-35, and then found themselves behind 49-43 with 11:36 to play. However, Lincoln reeled off a 20-5 run to seal the game, taking a 69-48 lead with 2:50 to play. UNO went nearly five straight minutes during that time without a point.
Vivian Essuon had a double-double for the Blue Tigers, recording 17 points and 16 rebounds. Cherakie Barrett led Lincoln with 19 points. The Blue Tigers outscored UNO 46-20 in the paint. Lincoln shot a season-best 53.4 percent (31-of-58) from the field.
UNO travels to No. 23 Northwest Missouri State for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off next Wednesday. Northwest had its 11-game win streak snapped on Saturday at Fort Hays State.
