EDMOND, Okla. – The UNO soccer team surrendered a goal in the 90th minute and lost its season opener, 2-1, to Central Oklahoma in the opening game of the Broncho Invitational.  #Hayley Renshaw# had the Mavericks' goal.

At 89:30 of the game, UNO goalkeeper #Lauren Fox# made a save on a shot by Ashton Morris but couldn't control the rebound.  Summer Grantham knocked the loose ball past Fox for the game winner.

The Mavericks fought back from a 1-0 deficit to tie the game in the second half when Renshaw headed the ball past goalkeeper Samantha Rusk from 10 yards out.  The unassisted tally came at 55:08.

The Bronchos had grabbed a 1-0 lead on a goal by Brittney Walker in the 34th minute of the first half.

UCO outshot the Mavs, 14-11.

Renshaw led the team with two shots on goal.  Sophomore transfer #Bri Exstrom# led UNO with three shot attempts.

Fox had nine saves while playing all 90 minutes.

The Mavericks (0-1) will face Midwestern State (1-0) in game two of the Broncho Invite on Sunday at 12 p.m.
