EMPORIA, Kan. - #Lindsey Slocum# hit a pair of solo homers to lead the Mavericks to a 5-0 win over Missouri Western Thursday in the first day of the MIAA Southern Crossover.

#Beth Haley# took the circle for Nebraska-Omaha (11-6) and allowed just four singles with three strikeouts and no walks. She improved to 2-1 with the win.

Slocum led off both the second and fourth innings with homers to give UNO a 2-0 lead. The Mavs put the game out of reach when #Katelyn Hinton# hit a three-run homer in the sixth.

The Mavs will continue action Friday at 9 a.m. against Washburn and then at 11 a.m. against Fort Hays State.
