The Mavericks swept doubles play and then won five of six singles matches in an 8-1 win over Nebraska Wesleyan in their season opener at Hanscom Park Tennis Center.

Drew Mercier and Chase Petersen won, 8-5 at No. 1 doubles and then they won at Nos. 1 and 2 singles, respectively in straight sets.

Jon McQuistan and Peter Messbarger won at No. 2 doubles and each won their singles matches. Matt Nohl and Peter Greteman won at No. 3 doubles and Greteman won at No. 5 singles.

Nebraska-Omaha will return to action in its second season of men's tennis February 16 at home against Creighton.
