Alyssa Green# scored 19 points in her final home game Thursday night but the Mavs faded away in the second half in a 73-62 loss to Missouri Southern at Sapp Fieldhouse.
Nebraska-Omaha fell to 12-14 overall and 7-12 in the MIAA with its fourth straight loss. The Mavericks now sit in a tie for eight with Southwest Baptist and they must win Saturday at Pittsburg State in their regular season finale to go to the MIAA postseason tournament. The Bearcats hold the tie-breaker over the Mavericks.
Both teams held low shooting percentages, especially in the second half. The Mavs were 31 percent overall after a 23 percent effort in the second half. The Lions shot 34 percent as a team after shooting 24 percent in the second half.

Heather Pohl joined Green in double figures with 14 points and Ashley Nelson#, also playing her final game at home, led UNO with nine rebounds and four assists.
MSSU started slow in the game and the Mavs built an 18-8 lead near the 10-minute mark. The Lions erased that lead in five minutes and then led by four at halftime, 39-35.
UNO opened the second half on a 5-0 run to tie the score, capped by a 3-pointer from Pohl, but the Lions went up with a pair of free throws from Jolea Apon and they held the lead for good after that. They built it to 10 inside of five minutes and UNO never got any closer than six down.
Apon led MSSU with 27 points and Jasmine Lovejoy added 24.
