Domike Earns Third Straight MIAA Track and Field A

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - UNO triple jumper #Nkeiruka Domike# has been named the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association student-athlete of the week for field events for the third consecutive week.  It's also her third award overall.

Domike improved her national-leading mark in the triple jump for the third straight week with a leap of 41-10 feet at the Nebraska Tune-Up. The junior from Rivers-State, Nigeria, finished second by one-half of an inch to a Division I athlete.  Her automatic-qualifying mark is best in Division II by more than a foot and leads the MIAA by more than two feet.  Domike's mark is also a school record.

The Mavericks remain fourth in the nation in the latest rankings from the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.  UNO is also fourth in the South Central Region, trailing Lincoln University, Missouri Southern and Central Missouri.

UNO will defend its 2009 MIAA Indoor Championship beginning Friday, Feb. 26 at Joplin, Mo.
