Paige Frauendorfer# blocked a Southwest Baptist shot with 17 seconds remaining Saturday afternoon and Lady Sanders hit a layup on the other end to give the Mavericks a one-point lead but the Bearcats hit a jumper at the buzzer for a 70-69 win on Senior Day at Sapp Fieldhouse.
The Mavericks (12-12) fell to eighth in the MIAA and currently hold the final spot in the conference tournament with a 7-11 league mark. The Bearcats improved to 8-17 overall and stayed alive in the conference running with a 6-12 record, putting them a game behind the Mavs.

Alyssa Green led the Mavs with 16 points and seven rebounds. Ashley Nelson scored 13 points and Frauendorfer ended with 10. Jamie Nash#, who scored nine points, joined Green with a team-high seven rebounds.
The Mavericks trailed the entire game until the 8:23 mark of the second half when Nelson hit a 3-pointer to give UNO a 51-50 lead. The Bearcats got the lead back on their next possession and held it for nearly six minutes.
The final 2:14 then saw four ties and five lead changes, the last being SBU's heartbreaker at the buzzer.
The Mavs shot 42 percent in the game with a 47 percent effort in the second half. Southwest Baptist shot 37 percent in the game. Both team shot about 80 percent from the free throw line.
The Bearcats led by as much as 10 in the first half before a 9-2 run made the score 31-28, SBU at the half. The Mavs' final three buckets of the half were from 3-point range to help them pull closer.
The Mavs edged SBU in rebounds, 38-36 and committed 16 turnovers while the Bearcats had 15.
Nelson, Green, Sanders and #
Kylee Rinehart# were all honored before the game during Senior Day ceremonies though it wasn't their final game in front of the home crowd. UNO will host Missouri Southern Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and then close out the regular season next Saturday at Pittsburg State.
