OMAHA, Neb. - The Mavericks erased an 11-point first-half deficit and led by five in the second half but they couldn't hold off the Bulldogs in a 59-52 loss to Truman Saturday afternoon at Sapp Fieldhouse.

Alyssa Green led UNO with 15 points and Ashley Nelson# added 13 but the Mavs (12-11, 7-9 MIAA) shot just 39 percent in the game, 24 percent in the second half, while the Bulldogs (9-15, 4-13 MIAA) shot 42 percent as a team.
An early 6-0 run gave the Bulldogs an 11-point lead and they kept the advantage throughout the first half, though the Mavericks chipped away at it. Green hit a layup with 29 seconds remaining that pulled the Mavs within one at halftime, 31-30.
UNO carried that momentum into the second half. #
Heather Pohl# opened the half with a basket to give UNO its first lead and then after a block by Nelson, Pohl hit a 3-pointer to put the Mavs up, 35-31.
After a free throw by the Bulldogs, Nelson hit a layup to put give the Mavs a five-point lead with 18:13 to play, their biggest of the day.

Jamie Nash# hit a layup with 1:18 to go to pull the Mavs within three.
Truman then hit four straight free throws in the final minute to hold on.
Heather Pohl led the Mavs with eight rebounds and Nash and Green led with three assists each. Nash added five steals. Kiley Rinehart came off the bench and had six points and five rebounds.
UNO won the rebound battle, 37-36 but committed six more fouls than TSU, allowing the Bulldogs to go 15 for 19 from the free throw line. UNO went just 10 times and made eight.
The Mavs will continue action Wednesday at Central Missouri in a 5:30 p.m. contest.
