OMAHA, Neb. – The UNO womens soccer team came up short at home on Thursday against Truman in a 3-0 shutout at UNO Soccer Field.
In the 14th minute, TSU midfielder Megan Buri corralled a UNO deflection and connected on a floater just outside the right of the box. It was the only goal scored in the first period.
The teams were tied at five total shots after 45 minutes of play, but Truman led 3-1 in shots targeted on goal.
Truman held a 1-0 advantage into the 73rd minute and added more on a Kelsey Twellman line drive shot assisted by Olivia Hayes outside the left of the box at 73:12.

Hayley Renshaw# almost tied the game in the first period for UNO but narrowly missed a shot off the upper right crossbar.
The Bulldogs pulled away at 88:40 on a Danielle Hill shot off a UNO deflection just inside the box.

Danielle Archuleta# added two, and #
Monica Bosiljevac# and Renshaw each had one for the Mavericks.
As a team, the Bulldogs outshot the Mavericks 10-7, including 8-1 in shots on goal.
TSU improves to 6-2-4 overall and 5-1-4 in MIAA action. The Mavericks fall to 5-6-1 and 5-4-1 in MIAA play.
UNO will next be on the road in Topeka, Kan. on Oct. 16 to face Washburn at 6 p.m.
