KIRKSVILLE, Mo. -- The University of Nebraska at Omaha soccer team (5-4, 4-1 MIAA) took its first Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association loss of the season this afternoon as it fell 1-0 to the Truman State Bulldogs (6-2-2, 5-1 MIAA).

 After a scoreless first half at the Truman Soccer Pitch, the Bulldogs' Olivia Hayes scored her seventh goal of the season to give TSU the lead at 45:46.

Truman's defense limited UNO to just seven shots on the day and it couldn't get any of them past goalkeeper Jayne Grisham who picked up her fourth shut out of the year for the Bulldogs.

Maverick junior goalkeeper #Lauren Fox# made six saves in net. She increased her streak of scoreless minutes to 272:27 before giving up the goal to Hayes early in the second half. Fox is now 3-1 in goal on the year.

Sophomore midfielder #Melanie Petersen# led UNO offensively with three shots, two of them were on goal.

The Mavericks will be back in action Thursday, Oct. 1 when they begin their four-game homestand against Southwest Baptist. Kickoff is at 4 p.m. at UNO Soccer Field.
