EMPORIA, Kan. - The Mavericks defeated Augustana, 3-1 Sunday to go 5-0 at the Emporia State AAUW Showdown and win their sixth straight.
Nebraska-Omaha (14-3) will now travel to Orlando, Fla., to play eight contests in the Rebel Spring Games, starting with two on Wednesday.
Jenna Dell led off the second inning with a single and then scored off
Treightin Yates' triple. Yates then scored on an error to give UNO a 2-0 lead.
The Vikings scored one in the top of the first but UNO got it back in the bottom of the inning when
Kristin Wellwood doubled and the later scored on a sacrifice fly from
Amanda Bader.
Melissa Negrete pitched the complete-game victory and struck out two.
