OMAHA, Neb. - The UNO women's basketetball team got 23 points from #
Alyssa Green and 16 second-half points from Cayla Hargrove# to stun the fourth-ranked Emporia State University Hornets 78-72 on Saturday afternoon at Sapp Fieldhouse. With the win, the Mavericks improve to 10-10 on the year and 6-8 in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.
Green got off to a hot start for UNO, scoring 10 of the team's first 12 points. The Mavericks led by as much as seven over the first five minutes of the game.

Amanda Brodsack# ended it with a jumper at 11:50 that left the Mavs trailing just 19-16.
Twice more, the Hornets increased their lead to seven, but the Mavericks stayed close. Green hit a three-pointer with 1:29 to go in the half to leave UNO down 37-35 at the break. She had 15 of her points in the first.
In the second half, Emporia State got up by eight when Cassondra Boston hit a three to make it 52-44 with 14:09 to go. She led all Hornet players with 22 points.
Hargrove picked up her game in the second half, especially down the stretch. From the 1:51 mark on, she scored the Mavericks' final 12 points. Her first jumper put UNO up 68-66. She then hit a layup with 1:11 to go off an inbounds pass to give the Mavs the lead for good at 71-69.
Hargrove finished the game with 18 points. Brodsack added 10 points and a team-high nine rebounds. Ida Edwards had 16 points, and Brittney Miller added 11 for Emporia State.
The Mavericks return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 11 when they host Missouri Western at 5:30 p.m.
