MIAA Tournament Brackets
OMAHA, Neb. - The Pittsburg State Gorillas scored 50 points in the second half to erase a 12-point deficit and beat the UNO women's basketball team, 77-70 on Saturday afternoon at Sapp Fieldhouse. The loss ruined Senior Day for six UNO players who were playing their final home games.
The Mavericks finish the season with a record of 15-11 and 11-9 in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association. The loss snapped the Mavs' six-game winning streak.
The Mavericks will now go into the MIAA Tournament next week as the sixth seed and will face the third-seeded Gorillas again in the second session on Friday, March 6 at 8:15 p.m.

LaToya Wright led the Mavericks with 14 points while Amanda Brodsack# had 11. #

Jill Wolf each kicked in eight points and Nelson had a game-high 11 rebounds.
The Mavericks owned a 39-27 lead at halftime thanks to strong shooting. They shot nearly 52 percent from the floor. UNO led for much of the first half and stretched its lead late, putting together a 12-1 run in the final three and a half minutes. Wright had six points during the run and #

The Gorillas came out strong in the second half, cutting the Mavericks lead down to six points when Brianna Buchanan hit a jumper with 10:24 remaining to make it 52-46.
UNO pushed the lead back out to 11 points when
Ashley Nelson hit a jumper with 7:53 to go.
The Gorillas, in third place in the MIAA coming into the game, finished the game on a 28-10 surge led by Candice Gilbert who had 14 of her game-high 19 points in the second half. Nicole McCombs added 18 points, and Caitlin Demarest and Buchanan each finished with 13.
Pittsburg State held the Mavericks to just 33 percent shooting in the second half while knocking down half of their shots.
