WARRENSBURG, Mo. - The 23rd-ranked University of Nebraska at Omaha soccer team closed out its 2009 regular season will a loss to Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics foe Central Missouri 1-0 Saturday afternoon at UCM South Recreation Complex.

The Mavericks finish the regular season with an overall record of 13-5-2 and 12-2-2 in MIAA play. The Jennies improve to 13-5-2 overall and 12-3-1 in the MIAA. It was UCM's seventh-straight win of the year.

The match was scoreless through the first 60 minutes until UCM's Lindsay Hoerl netted her first goal of the season at 60:42 of the second half.

The loss ends UNO's 10 game unbeaten streak, but more importantly, its hopes for its first MIAA title. The loss leaves the Mavs with 38 points, two behind Truman which claims the 2009 conference title with UCM's win over UNO today.

UNO finishes second in the conference, improving on last season's third place finish in the MIAA.

The Mavs and Jennies each tallied seven shots in the match, but UNO had the 4-3 advantage in shots on goal. Two of them came in the final 1:02 of the second half from freshman defender #Danielle Archuleta and sophomore forward Jerica Kuncl#, but UCM goalkeeper Lauren Bamvakais didn't allow the equalizer. Bamvakais had four saves in the match.

The Mavs will find out their fate for the NCAA tournament on Monday at 6 p.m. Central time when the NCAA releases the 2009 brackets on a webcast on NCAA.com.
