OMAHA, Neb. - The Mavericks' first and only 3-pointer helped seal a big victory as they beat Chadron State, 70-62 Saturday in the final game of the UNO Thanksgiving Classic.
Nebraska-Omaha improved to 3-2 in its final tune-up before Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association play begins next week. The Mavericks will host Washburn Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Sapp Fieldhouse.

Ashley Nelson# finished the game with a lay-up.
Nelson scored a career-high 27 points as she went 10-of-17 from the field. She added seven rebounds and two blocks. Green scored 15 points, Nash had 11 and Frauendorfer had 10. She added 11 rebounds for her first career double-double.
The Mavericks shot 37 percent from the field while the Eagles were 33 percent. Chadron State won the rebound battle, 44-39.
The Eagles led for nearly the entire first half. They led by 10 at the 7:06 mark before the Mavs finished the half on a 12-2 run and the two teams went into the locker room tied at 25-25.
After brief UNO leads early in the second half, the Eagles regained control at the 16:05 mark and held it until a lay-up by Green at 2:21.
The Eagles led one more time before a lay-up by Nelson at 1:44. Nash's defensive rebound on the other end of the court then set up her 3-pointer.
