OMAHA, Neb. - Sophomore forward #
Jerica Kuncl# scored the game-winning goal with eight seconds left in the first overtime period to give the Mavericks a 2-1 win over the Northwest Missouri State University Bearcats Saturday afternoon at the UNO Soccer Field.
Kuncl drove in on from the right side of the goal box and fired a shot past Bearcat netminder Kira Lazenby for her fourth goal of the season. It was Kuncl's first game-winning goal of the year.
With the win, UNO improves to 7-4 overall on the year and 6-1 in MIAA play. The Mavericks remain perfect at home this season at 5-0 and extended their home-game winning streak to eight in a row. The loss drops the Bearcats to 7-3-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the MIAA.

Melanie Petersen# put UNO up 1-0 on an unassisted goal at 27:28 of the first half. It was her second goal of the season.
The Mavs tallied ten shots on the goal in the second half, including four from #
Nicole Baier#, but could not get any past Lazenby.
The Bearcats pressured late in the half and in the 81st minute Shannon FitzGerald tied the game with her first goal of the season to force overtime.

Lauren Fox# collected her fifth win in goal on the year, improving to 5-1 on the year. She allowed one goal in the game and stopped two shots.
The Maverick defense yielded the Bearcats to six shots in the game, tying their season low for the year.
UNO will be back on the field on Thursday, October 8 when Emporia State comes to town for a 4 p.m. match at the UNO Soccer Field.
