Maryville, Mo. - #Nicole Baier# scored two times in the first eight minutes of the first half to lead the University of Nebraska at Omaha soccer team to 2-0 win Saturday over the Northwest Missouri State University Bearcats.

Baier wasted little time putting the Mavericks up 1-0 on her first goal at 3:20 of the first half on a pass from #Jessica Powers#. The goal is Baier's sixth game winner of the season.

#Jerica Kuncl# assisted on Baier's second goal of the game at 8:42. The goals are number 15 and 16 on the season for Baier. The redshirt freshman has scored seven goals in her last three games.

Baier is now tied for sixth with Beth McGill (2005), Anne Willrett (2004) and Amanda Iwansky (2005) for the most goals in a single season. Stephanie Kruse is UNO's single-season record holder with 24 goals in 2002.

With the win, UNO improves to 12-4-1 overall and 11-1-1 in Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association play. The win ties UNO's 2008 mark of 11 conference wins in its inaugural season in the MIAA. The loss drops NWMSU to 10-6-1 overal and 6-6-1 in the MIAA. UNO is now unbeaten in its last eight matches.

#Lauren Fox# picked up her 6.6 shutout of the season and improved to 10-1-1. She stopped six shots in the game.

UNO outshot the Bearcats 13-7. The Maverick defense has now held their opponent to under 10 shots in eight-straight games.

The Mavs will return to UNO Soccer Field for their final home match of the regular season against Missouri Southern on Thursday, Oct. 29. Kick off is at 3 p.m.
