Nicole Baier# found the back of the net three times to help the University of Nebraska at Omaha soccer team to a 4-1 win over the Emporia State University Hornets Sunday afternoon. With the win, UNO improves to 10-4-1 and 9-1-1 in Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association play. The loss drops ESU to 1-11-1 and 1-9 in MIAA action.

Jessica Powers# started the scoring with a goal in the 14th minute on a pass from Baier.
Baier put UNO up 2-0 with her first goal of the game in he 32nd minute. The goal proved to be the game winner. It is Baier's fourth game-winning goal of the season.
ESU's Ashley Hill put the Hornets on the board in the 44th minute to bring the score to 2-1. The Mavs went back up by two goals 42 second later when Hilary Horvatic passed to a wide open Baier who netted her second goal.
Baier completed the hat trick in the 66th minute on another feed from Horvatic to put UNO up 4-1. It was Baier's team-leading 12th goal of the year.
The hat trick is the second of the season for the Omaha native. She netted three goals on Sept. 4 against Central Oklahoma in UNO's 5-2 win. Baier has now recorded a multi-goal game five times this year.
The Mavs fired a season-high 24 shots in the match and held the Hornets to 9. Of the Mavs 24 shots, 12 were on goal. It's the sixth consecutive game that the UNO defense has held its opponent to under 10 shots.
UNO will be back in action on Thursday, Oct. 22 when they travel to Topeka, Kan., to take on Washburn. Kick off is at 6 p.m.
