OMAHA, Neb. -- The University of Nebraska at Omaha women's tennis team closed out the regular season with a 5-4 North Central Conference victory over St. Cloud State on Sunday morning at the Koch Family Tennis Center.
The Mavericks, who will compete in the 2008 NCC Tournament next Saturday-Sunday, April 26-27 in St. Cloud, improved to 10-4 on the season and 6-1 in the NCC. The Huskies fell to 19-8 overall and 2-2 in league play.
Rachel Faulk and
Kelsey Haas both picked up victories in singles and doubles to lead the Mavericks to their third-straight victory.
Faulk defeated Dawn Olsen 6-2, 6-1 in No. 1 singles and then combined with
Kylie Roe to defeat Olsen and Jacquelyn Peterson, 8-5, in No. 1 doubles.
Haas edged Kim Lindblom 7-6, 3-6, 10-4 in No. 4 singles, while she and
Katie Spahn defeated Kelly Freese and Kristy Eull, 8-3, in No. 2 doubles.
