MARYVILLE, Mo. -- Northwest Missouri State won three key singles matches in the middle of the match to claim a 5-4 non-conference win over the University of Nebraska at Omaha Wednesday.
The loss drops the Mavericks to 7-3 before they continue their road trip with three North Central Conference matches Friday and Saturday in St. Peter, Minn. UNO will face Minnesota State Friday at 6:30 p.m., then will play Minnesota Duluth and North Dakota Saturday.
The Bearcats improved to 17-3, winning two of the three doubles matches and three of the first four singles matches.
UNO's doubles team of
Rachel Faulk and
Kylie Roe earned a win to improve to 8-2 on the season, while Faulk,
Sara Bredfeldt and
Jenna Nielsen won singles matches. Faulk is now 9-1 in singles.
