SEWARD, Neb. - Freshman
Kayla Koepke and the 4x100 relay team grabbed titles Sunday to highlight the University of Nebraska at Omaha's performance in the Concordia University Invitational.
Koepke, from Hadar, Neb., won the 400-meter dash title with a time of 58.95 seconds. The 4x100-meter relay team of Shana Brown,
Molly Belling,
Anja Puc and
Pinar Saka edged Doane by less than a second with a time of 48.54.
Other top performances by the Mavericks included a second-place finish by
Lisa Tesarek in the 800-meters; a third-place by Belling in the 100-meter dash; a 2-3-4 finish by
Rasheema Pitt,
Kelly Hollmann and
Ashley Yates in the triple jump, and a 2-3 finish by Yates and Brown in the long jump.
The Mavericks will compete next weekend in California in the Azuza Pacific Invitational Friday and the Long Beach Invitational Saturday.
