CRETE, Neb. --
Ashley Yates captured the triple jump title and was second in the long jump to highlight the University of Nebraska at Omaha's performance in the Scott Nisely Memorial Invitational at Doane College Saturday.
Yates won with a mark of 36-6 3/4. Teammates
Rasheema Pitt and
Julia Warnke finished fourth and seventh in the event.
Yates had a long jump of 17-7, just behind the winning mark of 17-8 by Concordia's Jill Pfeifer.
Julie Gass was sixth, Pitt ninth, Warnke 11th and
Blair Schmidt 12th in the event.
In other results, Warnke was 13th in the high jump with a mark of 4-11;
Katie Harvey was seventh in the weight throw with a mark of 44-9 and
Madison Haugland was 17th in the same event. Haugland was also eighth in the shot put with a toss of 38-10.
In running events,
Jolene Smith was sixth in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:44.
Tahnee Tuenge, running unattached, was fourth in the 1000-meter run.
