LaToya Wright# led four Maverick players in double figures with a season-high 17 points as the University of Nebraska at Omaha women's basketball team cruised to an 87-63 victory over Northwest Missouri State in Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association action Saturday afternoon at the Sapp Fieldhouse.
With the win, UNO improved to 3-4 on the season and 1-2 in the MIAA. Northwest Missouri State fell to 4-5 and 0-3 in league play.
Wright, who scored 15 points in the first half, was 6-of-10 from the field including 3-of-4 from behind the arc in the first stanza.

Jill Wolf# pulled down a career-high 12 rebounds while adding six points and a pair of assists.
After falling behind 4-0 to start the game, the Mavericks went on a 7-0 run and never trailed the remainder of the game. UNO hit eight 3-pointers in the first half and led by as many as 25 points before going into the locker room with a 51-29 advantage.
The Bearcats battled back to within 17 points in the second half, trailing 72-55 with 6:58 remaining in the game. However, UNO answered with a pair of free throws by Majewski, a layup by freshman #
Heather Pohl# , and two free throws by Wolf to cap a 6-0 Maverick run that put the game out of reach at 78-55 with just over four minutes remaining.
The Mavericks will take a break from conference action when they host Bemidji State next Friday night, Dec. 19, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Sapp Fieldhouse.
