VERMILLION, S.D. -- Julie Gass won the long jump and finished second in the Bill Hillenbrand Invitational Pentathlon Friday at the DakotaDome. Teammate Patricia Harnisch finished 8th.

Gass recorded a 16-10 3/4 in the long jump she also finished 7th in the 800-meter run, 6th in the 60-meter hurdles, 2nd in the shot put and 7th in the high jump.

Anne Carslon, unattached, won the pentathlon with 3412 points, winning four of the five events.
