VERMILLION, S.D. -- Shana Brown won the long jump and
Kayla Koepke finished second in the 400-meter dash to highlight the Mavericks' showing at the Derek Miles Open Thursday in the DakotaDome.
Brown recorded a mark of 18 feet, 8 inches. Teammates
Julie Gass was fourth and
Ashley Yates fifth in the event.
Koepke ran the 400 in 59.91 seconds behind the University of Mary's Cassie Blazer, who had a time of 57.89.
