Sarah Huls Earns NCC Honor

Sarah Huls is one of seven female student-athletes who have been honored by the North Central Conference as the league's Honor Athletes for the 2004-05 academic year.

The honored student-athletes with the schools they represent are: Amanda Frame, Minnesota State; Heather Hamilton, Minnesota Duluth; Chelsea Hausauer, North Dakota; Sarah Huls, Nebraska-Omaha; Katie Krauth, Augustana, Marci Miller, South Dakota and Abby Velta, St. Cloud State.

Huls, a senior from Waverly, Neb., holds a 3.539 GPA in recreation and leisure studies, placed second in the 2005 NCC tournament in singles and teamed with Lindsay Henjum to win the doubles title.

Each school selected its top student-athlete on the basis of academic performance, athletic ability and performance and leadership in campus and community activities. In addition, each student-athlete must have graduated this spring or be within 12 credit hours of graduation. The select group will be honored at the NCC Honor Awards Dinner May 23 in Okoboji, Iowa, and are finalists for the league's Stan Marshall Award which will be announced at the dinner.
