St. Cloud, Minn.--UNO junior
Troy Cloyd earned his third-straight victory with a complete game five-hit shutout in a 5-0 win as the Mavericks salvaged a North Central Conference split with St. Cloud State on Saturday.
Nebraska-Omaha struck for four runs in the second inning of the second game. A two-RBI double by
Kevin Whitman and RBI singles by
Josh Shirk and
Jake Wurth highlighted the inning. Wurth drove in another run with a double in the fourth inning to cap off UNO scoring.
In the first game, SCSU's Nate Larson and Adam McGrane combined on a five-hitter as the Huskies downed UNO, 5-1.
David Bodnar led UNO going 2-for-3 with an RBI.
UNO (16-21, 7-9 NCC) will meet St. Cloud State again on Sunday in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
