OMAHA, Neb. — Omaha Baseball's bats remained mostly silent for the second night in a row, as visiting Oral Roberts exploded late to down the Mavericks 13-1 at Tal Anderson Field.
The Mavericks couldn't take advantage of a strong starting effort from sophomore pitcher
Tanner Foertsch, who allowed just one run on three hits over five innings before leaving with the game tied at 1-1.
Oral Roberts (20-12, 11-0) extended its lead in the Summit League standings over second-place Omaha (10-17, 6-5) heading into the series finale Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. CT.
The league's top hitter,
Jackson Trout, homered to deep left off Golden Eagles starter and winning pitcher Nathan Love (3-1) to open the bottom of the fourth and tie the game at 1-1. But the Mavericks bullpen allowed 12 runs over the final four frames, and Omaha's bats were limited to four hits for the second straight night.
All Summit League games are streamed live on the Summit League Network via Midco Sports.
