INDIANOLA, Iowa – Omaha Track and Field burned the midnight oil at the Kip Janvrin Open on Friday night.
Sophomore Lilly Smith (Ankeny, Iowa) set a personal record in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.58. Her result lands her fifth all-time in program history.
Four more Mavericks recorded personal records. Freshman Becca Campbell (Papillion, Neb.) ran the 400-meter dash in 59.08, junior Gabriela Calderon ran the 1500-meter run in 5:05.95, junior Izzy Apel (Lincoln, Neb.) ran the 5000-meter run in 19:12.98 and senior Sydney Beaudin (Omaha, Neb.) ran the 5000-meter run in 18:15.71.
Omaha will get a taste of Summit League competition at the South Dakota Challenge in Vermillion, S.D. on Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2.
