SIOUX FALLS, S.D. –– Omaha Softball left-handed pitcher
Maddia Groff has been named the Kwik Star Summit League Peak Pitcher of the Week, it was announced Tuesday.
Groff went 2-0 with a save in three outings last weekend as the Mavericks swept South Dakota State to cement a perfect 9-0 home record in Summit League games for the first time in head coach
Mike Heard's tenure.
In 15.0 innings of work, Groff held Jackrabbit batters to a .148 average at the plate as she struck out 23. On the season, the Omaha native has 124 strikeouts heading into Tuesday's sold-out tilt with No. 1 Nebraska.
