AZUSA, Calif. - Omaha Track and Field logged its fastest 4x400-meter relay of the Division I era at the Bryan Clay Invitational on Saturday.
The relay team of freshman Becca Campbell (Papillion, Neb.), junior Ava Robinson (Aurora, Colo.), sophomore Lilly Smith (Ankeny, Iowa) and sophomore Jocelynn Skoda (West Point, Neb.) finished the relay with a time of 3:45.85. The result is approximately two seconds short of breaking into the top-10 in program history and approximately four seconds short of the record set in 2010.
At the invite, four Mavericks recorded top-10 program results. In her first collegiate attempt of the outdoor 5000-meter run, freshman Hope Riedel (Lincoln, Neb.) finished fifth all-time with a time of 17:25.13.
Sophomore Meredith Richter (Medford, Wis.) finished the 800-meter run with a time of 2:12.95 to secure the ninth fastest time in program history.
Fellow sophomore Kate Kelly (Gretna, Neb.) jumped into the top-10 with an 11.44-meter triple jump, which was also a personal record.
Finally, Skoda secured the fifth fastest time in the 400-meter dash with a personal record of 55.54.
The Mavericks will split again for their next weekend of competition. Part of the squad will head to Indianola, Iowa, for the Kip Janvrin Open, while another part will head to Des Moines, Iowa, for the famed Drake Relays.
