LONG BEACH, Calif. - Omaha Track and Field wrapped up the first meet of its west coast swing at the Pacific Coast Invitational.
Senior Emma Klein (Gower, Mo.) wrapped up the day with a personal record in the triple jump of 12.06m. Klein is now second all-time in the triple jump. Sami Spenner still holds the record set in 2014 with an attempt of 12.78m.
Junior Avyn Urbanski (Grand Island, Neb.) finished the day with a pair of top-10 marks. The sprinter now sits fifth all-time in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.82 and seventh all-time in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.47.
Sophomore Lilly Smith (Ankeny, Iowa) set a personal record in the 400-meter hurdles with the seventh fastest time in program history at 1:03.69.
To open the meet, the 4x100-meter relay team of Klein, sophomore Jocelynn Skoda (West Point, Neb.), junior Ava Robinson (Aurora, Colo.) and Urbanski ran the eighth fastest relay in program history with a time of 46.41.
In the 1500-meter run, the Mavericks had a 1-2 finish with sophomore Ainsley Anderson (Omaha, Neb.) winning the event with a time of 4:54.98 and senior Sydney Beaudin (Omaha, Neb.) in second with a time of 4:58.30.
Omaha is back in action tomorrow and Saturday at the famous Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif. The Mavs kick it off at 9:50 a.m. CT. A small contingency will compete in the Big Red Classic in Lincoln, Neb. at 5:35 p.m. CT.
