OMAHA, Neb. - Omaha Men's Tennis defeated Drake, 4-3, at home in its penultimate home match of the regular season. 

Maverick freshman Maddox Lundell (Minnetonka, Minn.) secured the win for Omaha with his 14th win of the spring. The standout first-year took the first set 6-2 over Drake's Jose Hernandez before falling 6-4 in the second. Lundell cruised through the third set for a 6-1 win and another win for the Mavericks. 

Graduate Liam Spiers (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) was the first singles match to wrap up with a 6-2, 7-5 win in the No.1 flight over Drake's Christian Winstead. Redshirt-sophomore Pavan Uppu (Pickerington, Ohio) put the Mavs in winning position with a 6-2, 6-4 win over his former teammate Benjamin Johnson in the No. 5 match. 

"Another great team win, could not be prouder," head coach Hunter Clark said. "We responded well from the North Dakota match by getting the doubles point, and at that point, I knew the team was locked in. We did what we had to do, and it's on to the next." 

The Mavericks have two more matches left in the regular season. They will make the trip to Illinois State on Wednesday, April 15, before coming home to face No. 73 Denver on Sunday, April 19.
