NEW ORLEANS – Omaha Men's Tennis beat New Orleans, 5-2, on the road on Saturday afternoon. 

The Mavs (5-8) clinched the win due to graduate Liam Spiers' (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) win in the No. 3 flight in singles. Spiers fell 6-2 to the Privateers' (8-5) Marlos Melgosa in the first set before tying it up with a 6-4 win in the second. He took the third set 6-3 to win the match. 

Freshman Maddox Lundell (Minnetonka, Minn.) also won a three-set match. In the No. 5 flight, Lundell defeated New Orleans' Peter Kieslinger 6-2, 6-7 (8), 6-0 to win his eighth singles match of the spring. The freshman leads the Mavericks in singles wins in dual matches. 

Omaha is back tomorrow for a doubleheader at Nicholls State. Match one will kick off at 9 a.m. CT and match two at 1 p.m. CT.
