OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha Women's Basketball fell to North Dakota State 102-51 at home on Saturday.
The Mavericks (3-23, 1-10 Summit) scored 12 more points than when they met the Bison (22-2, 11-0) for the first time this season, but it was not enough to stop the stampede. The Mavs shot 33.3% from the field and the arc and 61.1% from the free throw line.
Freshman
Regan Juenemann (Crosby, Minn.) was the only Maverick to score in the double digits. With 14 points, it was her 11th game this season with 10 or more points. Graduate
Sarai Estupiñan (Cedar Park, Texas) and freshman
Leekaya Burke Perryman (Colorado Springs, Colo.) were next up on the score sheet with eight points each.
Freshman
Avril Smith (Omaha, Neb.) led the team in minutes played with approximately 27 minutes spent on the court. She, once again, led in rebounds with five, her second lowest rebound total of the season. Smith is six rebounds away from 300 total and one defensive rebound from 200.
With only five games left in the regular season, the Summit League Championship is quickly approaching. Currently, the Mavericks are the ninth seed.
Omaha will head on the road for the next three games before closing out the regular-season at home. The Mavericks will travel to head coach
Jamie Carey's home state of Colorado on Wednesday, Feb. 11 to play Denver before heading to St. Thomas for a Valentine's Day afternoon game.
