OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha Men's Tennis swept Midland to earn its first win of the dual season.
 
The Mavericks (1-5) won each singles match in straight sets over Midland (0-4).
 
Sophomore Kaden Taylor (Clive, Iowa) dropped only one game in the No. 5 singles match over Midland's Angel Bustos. Taylor took the first set 6-0 and won the second 6-1 for the fewest lost games of the match.
 
Graduate Liam Spiers (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) only dropped two games in the No. 1 singles match against Martin Cisneros from Midland. Like Taylor, Spiers won the first set 6-0 before going on to win the second set 6-2.
 
Two Mavs saw their first dual doubles wins of the season. Freshman Maddox Lundell (Minnetonka, Minn.) won the No. 3 doubles match, 7-5, alongside Taylor. Freshman Anthony Scheglowski (Lakeville, Minn.) and junior Christian Trevey took the No. 2 match 6-4.
 
The Mavericks will spend next weekend on the road with a match at UIC on Saturday, Feb. 14 and Northern Illinois on Sunday, Feb. 15.
