OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha Track and Field will head to Iowa State for the Iowa State Classic on Friday, Feb. 6.
The Mavericks will send 19 athletes to compete in eight events, seven track and one field.
Omaha has been on a roll for the past two meets. For each meet, two athletes have earned a result that landed them in the top-10 in program history. Sophomore
Jocelynn Skoda (West Point, Neb.) and junior
Avyn Urbanski (Grand Island, Neb.) both landed in the top-10 after the Washburn Open last weekend. Skoda landed eighth all-time in the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.74 and Urbanski tied for ninth all-time in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.75.
The Mavs remain 32nd in the regional poll which puts them ahead of only one Summit League team, Kansas City.
Two relay teams from Omaha are in the top-10 for the conference. After the Washburn Open, the distance medley relay team of freshman
Hope Riedel (Lincoln, Neb.), Skoda, junior
Lily Schwartz (Lincoln, Neb.) and freshman
Briley Early (Leawood, Kan.) is third with a time of 12:25.01. The 4x400-meter relay team of freshman
Becca Campbell (Papillion, Neb.), Skoda, junior
Ava Robinson (Aurora, Colo.) and Schwartz is sixth with a time of 3:56.23.
Senior
Emma Klein (Gower, Mo.) appears in the top-10 twice. She is sixth in the triple jump with an attempt of 11.92 meters and 10th in the long jump with a distance of 5.63 meters.
Live timing will be available for Friday's meet. The meet is set to begin at 12 p.m. CT with the 3000-meter run.
