Djobet named Summit League Peak Performer of the Week

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Omaha Men's Basketball junior guard Paul Djobet was named the Kwik Star Summit League Peak Performer of the Week, it was announced Tuesday. Djobet is now the second Maverick to earn the honor this season after teammate Lance Waddles (Dec. 23).

Djobet was the only Summit League hooper to finish with a double-double twice last week as the Mavericks stretched the win streak to three. The Lille, France product averaged 21.5 p.p.g. and 10.5 r.p.g. in over 65 minutes in a pair of starts. Djobet recorded a new career-high 27 points against Denver.

Djobet shot 46.7% from the field against South Dakota State and Denver (14-30) and made a trio of threes against the Pioneers in the road victory.

Djobet was the lone Summit League player to post two games of 10 or more rebounds last week. He recorded the second-most rebounds in the league from Jan. 28-31 with 21 total boards. His 18 defensive rebounds paced the conference.

On the season, Djobet has scored 20 or more points in four of his last outings and currently leads the Mavericks with 20.0 p.pg. in 11 outings (all spring semester).

Djobet and the Mavericks head north to close out the regular-season series with North Dakota on Thursday, Feb. 5 in Grand Forks, followed by a battle with first-place North Dakota State on  Saturday, Feb. 7 in Fargo.
