TROY, Ala. — Omaha Softball went 1-1 Sunday during the final day of the Trojan Invitational.
Omaha lost a 2-0 pitchers' duel to host Troy on Sunday morning before rebounding for an 11-3, five-inning win over Kennesaw State.
Omaha is now 12-1 on the season, as its 11-0 start was the third-best in program history.
The Troy game resumed in the third inning after play was stopped by rain Saturday night.
The game was scoreless in the sixth. After Omaha stranded runners at the corners in the top of the inning, Troy's Dailynn Motes hit a two-run homer in the bottom half. Omaha had runners at second and third in the seventh, but Troy's Abby Lovell worked out of the jam for the win.
Lovell struck out 13 while throwing a two-hitter. Omaha's Maddia Groff tossed a six-hitter with six strikeouts.
Omaha's offense was back on track against Kennesaw State as Taylor Sedlacek led the way with six RBI.
The shortstop from Bennington hit a two-run homer in the first inning, a two-run double in the second and a two-run single in the fourth.
Sammy Schmidt and Ava Rongisch also had RBI hits in the five-run second inning. Catcher Rylinn Groff had two hits and scored four runs against Kennesaw State.
Alexis Wiggins, who improved to 5-0 this season, went the first three innings, and Grace Hornbuckle pitched the final two as they combined on a five-hitter.
Omaha next will play at Arkansas at 4 p.m. CT on Thursday. The Mavericks will play five games in Fayetteville next weekend.
