CHICAGO – Omaha Men's Tennis defeated UIC, 4-3, on the road on Saturday night.  

The Mavericks' (2-5) win came down to the No. 5 singles match and freshman Maddox Lundell (Minnetonka, Minn.). Lundell took the first set over UIC's (3-2) Emil Dapcevic with a score of 6-2. The second set went to extra games and Dapcevic won 7-5, but Lundell came back to win the third 6-2 and seal the match for the Mavs.  

Wins at No. 3 and No. 4 singles put Lundell in position to seal the match. Junior Christian Trevey (Parker, Colo.) beat UIC's Simon Knezevic 6-4, 6-4 in the No. 3 spot while redshirt sophomore Pavan Uppu (Pickerington, Ohio) defeated Mihailo Savic 6-2, 7-5.  

Omaha won the doubles point to open the match. The duo of Bryan Kuntz and Pavan Uppu sealed the deal with a 7-6 (4) win in the No. 1 flight over UIC's Artem Alekseychuk and Knezevic.  

The Mavericks are back tomorrow morning to play Northern Illinois at 9 a.m. CT.
