MADISON, Wis. – Omaha Men's Tennis fell 5-2 to Western Michigan in a neutral-site match on Saturday.
The Mavericks (0-4) secured both of their points with wins in singles over the Broncos (6-2) marking the first time this season Omaha has won multiple singles matches.
Graduate
Bryan Kuntz (Cuiaba, Brazil) started off the scoring with a win at No. 2 singles over WMU's Alexander Antonopoulos. Kuntz won the first set 6-3, before falling in the second 6-2. He came back in the third to win by the same margin.
Freshman
Maddox Lundell (Minnetonka, Minn.) won his first dual singles match of his collegiate career in the No. 6 flight over Western Michigan's Jack Davison. Lundell cruised to victory with a 6-3, 6-4 win.
In doubles, the duo of Kuntz and redshirt sophomore
Pavan Uppu (Pickerington, Ohio) fought hard against No. 80 Antonopoulos and Oscar Corwin and pushed the set into extra games for a 7-5 loss.
