Men’s Tennis to host Wichita State in home opener

OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha Men's Tennis will host Wichita State in the 2026 home opener on Saturday, Jan. 24.

The Mavericks (0-2) opened the dual season on the road with a doubleheader at Nebraska. Graduate Bryan Kuntz (Cuiaba, Brazil) and redshirt sophomore Pavan Uppu (Pickerington, Ohio) secured the only match win of the trip with a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles in the first match of the day.

Kuntz and Uppu were named the Kwik Star Summit League doubles team of the week for their accomplishment.

Wichita State (1-4) will brave the cold, icy conditions and make the trip up to Omaha. The Shockers have a ranked singles player, Zaid Mashni, who checked in at No. 66 in the ITA rankings.

The match is set to begin at 12 p.m. CT at Miracle Hills Tennis Center. Live scoring and a live stream will be available.
