Smith hits 200 rebounds, Women’s Basketball drops to NDSU

FARGO, N.D. – Omaha Women's Basketball's Avril Smith earned her 200th rebound of the season in the Maverick's 94-39 loss at North Dakota State.

The Mavericks (2-17, 0-4 Summit) scored most of their points in the fourth quarter with 18, but it was not enough to overcome the deficit from the first three quarters against the Bison (15-2, 4-0).

Smith (Omaha, Neb.) tallied 15 rebounds against the Bison in approximately 32 minutes spent on the court. Of the 19 games the Mavs have played this season, Smith has earned 10 or more rebounds in 10 games. Twice she recorded 20 or more.

Freshman Regan Juenemann (Crosby, Minn.) led the Mavs in scoring with 15 points. She shot 60.0% from the field.

Junior Lainey Maehl (Fort Dodge, Iowa) made her career debut for the Mavericks. Maehl was a midseason addition for Jamie Carey's squad.
