LINCOLN, Neb. – Omaha Cross Country ran its way to a top 10 team finish at the Woody Greeno Invitational in Lincoln, Neb. Saturday.
The Mavericks faced a stacked field of Division I opponents and ranked teams from the other divisions. Omaha tallied 224 points.
Briley Early was the first Maverick across the line for the second time this season. The freshman finished with a time of 18:24.63 in 18th place. Early was the eighth Division I runner to finish.
Hope Riedel was the next Mav to complete the race, coming in 31st place with a time of 18:44.65. She was followed by
Meredith Richter in 37th with a time of 18:55.04.
Litzey Fredette and
Sydney Beaudin were the final Mavericks to finish in scoring position. Fredette crossed the line in 75th place with a time of 19:40.64 and Beaudin in 82nd place with a time of 19:50.45.
Ainsley Anderson posted a new personal best mark at the meet, finishing in 42nd with a time of 20:03.63.
The Mavericks will head out of state for the first time this season, taking part in the famed Gans Creek Classic hosted by Missouri on Friday, Sept. 26.
