SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Omaha women's golf finished fifth of 11 teams Tuesday (298-289-305=892) at the 54-hole MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial, the first event of the 2025-26 season. Missouri State took home the team title at a 14-over 866. Odessa's Napajira Nami Luesattha defeated the Bears' Chloe Bolte on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff for medalist honors (210, -3).
Omaha was led by senior
Katie Ruge's (Omaha, Neb.) T7 finish, carding rounds of 76 (+5), 68 (-3) and 75 for a three-round total of 219 (+6). Ruge's 68 marked the low round by a Maverick over the two-day event.
Four Mavs finished in the top 30 with Ruge joined by sophomore
Elly Honnens (Lincoln, Neb.) [T11], senior
Emily Karmazin (Omaha, Neb.) [T16] and senior
Macarena Garcia Terron (Salamanca, Spain) [30].
Garcia Terron and Honnens tied for Omaha's team lead in birdies with each making seven. Graduate student
Maddie Simon (Mahtomedi, Minn.) carded for par 35 times to lead Omaha.
