SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Omaha women's golf junior
Katie Ruge was crowned the Summit League's 2024-25 Newcomer of the Year, it was announced Tuesday.
Ruge, an Omaha, Neb. native, joined the Mavericks after two seasons at Kansas.
A 2024-25 Second Team All-Summit honoree, Ruge has torched the Mavericks' record book since her arrival. Leading Omaha to an unprecedented three team titles in 2024-25, Ruge, owns the program 18-hole single round and 54-hole tournament scoring records.
With two individual wins this season, Ruge's scoring average of 74.0 (adj.) is the lowest in program history. She recorded five top-three finishes this season with a head-to-head record of 363-56-8 against the field.
Ruge has hit the links for 26 rounds of golf in an Omaha uniform this season and was named to the Summit League All-Championship Team.
