2025 Omaha cross country schedule revealed

OMAHA, Neb. (July 23, 2025) - Omaha cross country's 2025 schedule was released Wednesday. The Mavericks enter the 2025 campaign coming off a top 30 finish at the NCAA Midwest Regional last season.

"I am really excited to get the 2025 cross country season started," said head coach Cliff Cisar. "The intent of this year is to take this program to the next level. I know we have just the right group of returners coming back and are bringing in a mighty talented class of incomers who are going to add more depth to the program than we've had in the past."

The season will open at home with the Platte River Rumble Gold on Sept. 5 co-hosted with Creighton. The 5-kilometer race will take place at Mahoney State Park in Ashland, Neb.
Omaha will head south to the Woody Greeno Invitational on Sept. 20 hosted by Nebraska for the final 5-kilometer race of the season.

The Mavericks will leave the state on Sept. 26 to compete in the prestigious Gans Creek Classic hosted by Missouri. This 6-kilometer race pulls together some of the best cross country teams from around the nation.
Omaha will compete at home once more in the regular season at the Platte River Rumble College on Oct. 17. The 6-kilometer race will be held at the same site and Creighton will again act as a co-host.

The Mavs will enjoy home course advantage for the 2025 Summit League Championships. All eight women's teams, and all seven conference men's teams, will converge in Ashland, Neb. for a chance to hoist the championship trophy on Nov. 1.
Oklahoma State will host the NCAA Midwest Regional on Nov. 14.

"The schedule for us lines up so well with us being able to host two regular season meets again along with the icing on the cake of us hosting the Summit League Championships on the first of November," Cisar added. "Our familiarity with the course will prove very useful come Championship season. We will see very competitive regional teams throughout the year, so we are looking forward to seeing how we stack up each week as we progress throughout season."

Start times to be announced and the schedule is subject to change.
